The new SVP-CL all-tube preamp is based on the preamp section of the 70's era SVT tube head. The signal path through the (2)12AX7 and (2)12AU7 tubes accurately replicates the original 12DW7 tube design. The affordable SVT-DI features a 12AX7 tube that creates that classic Ampeg tube coloration to enhance the tone of any solid-state device. In addition to the 12AX7 tube, which provides warmth and harmonic enhancements, the SVT-DI includes tube or direct modes and a 1/4 in. input thru jack that sends a signal back into the solid state amp and to the front of house or recording console. The SVT-DI also features 1/4 in. and XLR outputs, -6dB pad in tube mode that prevents distortion, and a signal to noise ratio greater than 90dB, for a quiet send to the front of the house or recording console.
For those wishing to configure their own rack-mounting bass rigs, the Ashdown RPM-1 EVO II preamp puts all the ABM facilities in a convenient rack-mounting package. Three straightforward rotary tone controls provide 20dB of cut and boost at 60Hz, 660Hz and 5kHz, and are supplemented by two pairs of additional sliders giving 15dB cut and boost at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz.
